Champagne Ruppert-Leroy
As a wine enthusiast, you are delighted that we come by yearly with exceptional champagnes. Ruppert-Leroy and Thomas de Marne produce outstanding wines; their champagnes are equally beautiful. The hard work, knowledge, diligence, passion, and talent in making these wines may not always noticed, but they shine through when you taste them.
For us, Ruppert-Leroy is one of the most exciting wine producers in recent years. Their production is limited, and there is high demand, making each bottle a rare and exclusive find. In 2021, a devastating spring frost affected many vineyards in the Côte de Bar. Despite this, the 2021 Champagne Puzzle, a masterful example of craftsmanship, was created from grapes sourced from Ben, Manu, and other vintner friends. This exclusive creation combines fresh minerality with rich, fleshy fruit, nutty complexity, and perfect acidity.
There are also a few bottles of Solera 11-12-13 from 2021. This unique blend offers a combination of richness and complex structure with a high, citrusy acidity. While these are, unfortunately, the only two cuvées for this year, they promise an exciting and unique sparkling experience.
Champagne Thomas de Marne
Thomas de Marne has now definitively and with great enthusiasm taken over the winemaking work of his mother, Valérie Frison. What we tasted last week left a strong impression on us.
The pink colour of Goustan 2022 was striking, which shows that Pinot Noir is fortunately not discoloured and without the addition of sulphur. We eagerly anticipate releasing these unique creations, which promise to be a delightful addition to your wine collection.
Champagne Cotannes is a prime example of biodynamic viticulture that vividly reflects the area's proximity to Chablis. Additionally, Thomas produces an excellent Chardonnay called Lalore, although it is available only in limited quantities here.
Champagne can clear your mind, spark imagination, playfulness, and wit, and be a refined indulgence you can allow yourself. It's stimulating and can make you feel euphoric as if the bubbles reveal a secret when you drink it. Enjoy Champagne today, but don't wait too long.
